loving nautical

I came across a beautiful nautical photo as I was researching pirate ideas for my boys' 4th birthday.  The beach photo was so inspirational, I decided to collect more ideas that incorporate a nautical theme.  Since the boys' room is in need of a makeover, I decided to keep this theme in mind for their room and next birthday. Here are some nautical theme rooms and party ideas.

our staircase - before & after

My lovely husband decided to tackle our staircase over the holiday weekend. He loves doing work around the house. However, since the house needed so much work just to get us moved in, he's had to work on projects little by little. But I must say, I am quite delightful with the work he did on our staircase! Here are some before and after photos of his lovely work.

pirate cupcake playdate

I am always thinking of ways to keep my twin boys entertained. Since they are very hands on, and they love to bake with me, I decided to invite my nieces over for a cupcake decorating playdate. I went with a pirate theme since the boys are into the Disney show, "Jake & the Neverland Pirates". I also wanted some practice for their pirate theme birthday party in just a few months! Here are some pictures we took of their playdate. Enjoy!

When the twins arrived...

Nothing compares to the day when the twins arrived! The greatest gift I could ever receive, is the blessing of having my angels, Jacob & Nathan. They are a true miracle from above. The moment I heard their very first cries, I was filled with such an overwhelming joy. It was a feeling that is truly indescribable. Hearing their little voices, knowing that they were ok.. Knowing that these two little beings inside of me, a part of my husband and I, were finally in this world with us. I just can't explain it! The moment I saw their sweet little faces, I knew they would change my life in so many ways. And they sure did! I will share more of our journey in a future post. But for now, here are some photos of when the twins arrived...

I was so nervous
